AGATA

AGATA is an exciting reinterpretation of the classic Gose, which has its roots in the town of Goslar. Gose is one of the oldest beer styles in Germany, but is relatively unknown. Traditionally, a Gose is slightly salty due to the local water sources in the town of Goslar, but AGATA has been given a very modern twist. The Lemke brewery team has spiced up the basic recipe with original golden tequila and lime juice, which goes perfectly with the salty flavour of the beer. A total of 56 litres of the finest tequila were added to the Gose during storage. You can taste this and it gives AGATA a unique character: fresh and tangy, lime-fruity, mildly salty and yet light to drink. Almost like a margarita!

This genuine Berlin sour beer speciality was served throughout the city in its heyday. According to legend Napoleon’s troops admired it and called it the “sparkling wine of the north”. We are giving Berlin back its original – without syrup and naturally sour!

Wood-aged beers – their production requires craftsmanship, a lot of experience, patience and a bit of intuition. Beers from our “132 Barrel Aged Series” mature in new or differently pre-aged barrique barrels, e.g. whiskey, cognac, tequila or rum. This allows them to develop a unique, beguilingly intense aroma.
